about : UK film-maker Daniel Cox began rockutainment in 2004 as an outlet for his film and make-up work, as well as being his personal web presence.
Daniel studied at Panico Film School, London, as well as completing courses in special make-up effects. The foundation in film making skills propelled Daniel to make short films in a variety of genres, working closely with Dan Batt and Peter Johnston on a number of projects (under the banner of Destiny Productions), including award winning 'Nothing But The End' and sci-fi short film 'The Clone'.
In late 2005 his short film 'Nothing But The End' took first place in the Hauntfest Horror Film Challenge, then in January 2006 Daniel began work on the short film 'Revenant'. Upon completion of the film, Daniel and Tim Hunt continued to work together on a number of short film projects. During 2006 Daniel and regular cast and crew members made the short films: Revenant, Honesty, Tactical Invite, Feel The Force*, Invitation, The 80's, and Just One Thing**. In 2007 Daniel began working with producer Amelia Saberwal and rockutainment entered an exciting new phase. The main project of the year was writing and making the ambitious short film 'Lord of Pain', a 40minute black comedy following the crazy world of ex-magician Udo Reinman. West End 'History Boy' actor Daniel Fine took the lead role of Udo and joined a cast of over 20. Made on a micro-budget 'Lord of Pain' saw it's premiere in Covent Garden, London on June 26th 2008 as well as several further screenings in London and Sussex.
2007 also brought about the creation of a commercial for Bright FM, as well as Daniel writing and directing 'Fused'***, a 60second short for the BAFTA 60 seconds of fame competition which went on to win the South Region, sending Daniel and Amelia to the BAFTA's 2008. Daniel is currently developing two new short film scripts, as well as writing two feature film scripts...
